The hiSTORy of Catalyst

Dr. Michael A. Scimeca begins formulating Catalyst in 1994 after a few months in private practice as a chiropractor.

May 1995 - Dr. Nancy Davis receives sessions from Michael in his Marietta office and becomes the catalyst for Catalyst by saying she would like to be in attendance when he teaches the work.

September 22, 1995 - Dr. Nancy Davis and others attend the first Catalyst Class.

June 1999 - The Education Department of Catalyst creates the certification process for becoming a Certified Catalyst Facilitator (CCF).

July 13, 1999 - The first certification examinations are administered.

September 1999 - Howard Allgeier is the first President of The Association for Catalyst.

December 21, 1999 - The United States Patent and Trademark Office acknowledges the uniqueness of "the work" as Catalyst receives an official trademark (a service mark: Reg. No. 2,302,101).

July 1, 2001 - Catalyst is approved by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) as a continuing education provider under Category A.
